Description:
Ophir Chasma ( map of Mars ) is the northern most one of the connected valleys of Valles Marineris.
For scale, the large impact crater in middle right corner is 30 km (18 miles) wide.
The Chasma is bordered by 4 km high walled cliffs. These cliffed walls have been dissected by landslides.
Photo by the Viking 1 spacecraft in 1997.
